I specialize in fat loss coaching, as well as contest prep diet and exercise programming.
What is fat loss coaching?
My approach to diet and exercise is not centered around throwing my clients a meal plan or generic exercise program. Rather, I teach my clients how to develop a fully customized diet and exercise philosophy that works in the context of their lives.
This means that my clients and I correspond regularly through email, to help ensure they remain committed to the behaviours that lead to long-term success.
Who is a candidate for personal coaching?
Personal coaching is a premium service for highly motivated individuals with concrete goals. Currently, the majority of my personal clients are physique competitors, multi-sport endurance athletes or individuals who have been routinely exercising and eating well for many months, but remain stuck at a plateau.
Given the inherent nature of web-based coaching, this is not a service for people who require large amounts of “hand holding”.
Nor is personal coaching required for those just beginning to learn about healthy eating and exercise or who haven’t been regularly exercising/dieting for any length of time.
Now only $147 for unlimited access!
For these individuals, a progressive, weight loss program with a strong social support focus, such as The Nutrition Academy’s Final Diet is an excellent choice.
What will be expected of me if I become a client?
Effective coaching requires regular interaction. Great results also require hard work. Therefore, if you aren’t someone who asks a lot of questions or who struggles to communicate problems/concerns, then a largely distance-based personal coaching package is not for you.
As part of my coaching, I require clients to submit weekly program adherence updates, biweekly progress photos and measurements, as well as periodic nutrition updates.
All of these forms are accessible in the private client section of my website.
Additionally, clients receive access to video-based workout programs and online meal planning programs (as required), so a fair degree of comfort with computers is recommended.
How long does private coaching last?
Everyone is unique, however given the behavioural orientation of my programs, the minimum time commitment is three months (although many of my clients choose to stay on for longer than that).
This isn’t to suggest that my clients will achieve everything they set out to accomplish in three months. However, three months is the bare minimum time/effort commitment required to make a meaningful physique change and for the new behaviours to become permanent fixtures.
How much does personal coaching cost?
My current rates are as follows and must be paid via Paypal recurring billing or post-dated cheques:
- Monthly: $300
- 6 months (paid in full): $1500
- 12 months (paid in full): $2500
These rates covers all diet, supplementation and exercise programming as required, as well as progress update reviews (can be online or in-person).
Occasionally, I do accept new clients who are already working with a trainer. However, I will require copies of all your training programs to make sure what you are doing is congruent with your goals.
Do you offer single consults?
Yes. A one-time 60-90 minute consult costs $125. Individuals deciding to pursue the full coaching commitment will have this amount credited towards their first month’s payment.
How many clients do you take and how do I sign up?
Not many. Unfortunately, given the time consuming nature and private attention my clients require, I only ever accept a small number of private clients at any given time.
If you would like to be considered for a coaching spot, please fill out the application form below. I will then be in contact with you to help you decide whether personal coaching is the right option for you and whether we’d be a good match.
